‘How the cookie crumbles’: Kevin Costner is ‘OK’ if he loses fans over political views

.

Actor Kevin Costner is content with standing by his political beliefs — even if that means losing some fans.

Costner, whose Yellowstone series premiered its fifth season over the weekend, said he has no regrets after supporting Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) during her primary run for reelection earlier this year.

“Just because you lose doesn’t mean you’re done; it doesn’t mean you’re even wrong,” Costner told USA Today. “I didn’t really care how the cookie crumbles, that people that liked me now don’t like me. That’s OK.”

In August, Cheney took to Twitter with a photo of him wearing a T-shirt in her support. She touted Costner’s ability to put “country over party.”

“I wanted to let her know, as a citizen, how much I appreciated her brave, clear-headed stance,” Costner said of wearing the shirt.

The Hollywood star also said he still stands by his support of former 2020 presidential candidate and current Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg.
