The soldiers stationed at Chernobyl reported they were “irradiated” and have since been taken to a Belarus medical facility, according to an employee at the Public Council at the State Agency of Ukraine for Exclusion Zone Management.

“Another batch of irradiated terrorists who seized the Chernobyl zone was brought to the Belarusian Radiation Medicine Center in Gomel today,” Yaroslav Yemelianenko said in a statement.

“Have you dug trenches in the Red Forest, b******? Now live the rest of your short life with this. There are rules for handling this area. They are mandatory because radiation is physics — it works regardless of status or shoulder ranks.”

The Russian troops first fell ill after they reportedly “looted and destroyed” a laboratory holding “highly active” radioactive material.

The laboratory held “highly active samples and samples of radionuclides that are now in the hands of the enemy,” a Ukrainian state agency said, according to the report.

Ukrainian leaders such as President Volodymyr Zelensky have alleged the Russians are utilizing the exclusion zone surrounding Chernobyl to ready for future attacks, and the United Nations nuclear watchdog has employed an online program to monitor nuclear plants occupied by Russian forces, the report noted.
