Last month, Arkansas Democrat Mark Pryor told NBC News that he believed his Republican opponent, congressman Tom Cotton, has a “sense of entitlement” with regard to Pryor’s Senate seat. Cotton is a first-term congressman and Army veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, while Pryor is a two-term senator and the son of a former senator and governor of Arkansas. Pryor refused to explain what he meant by the comment, though he did issue a statement commending Cotton for his military service
