Ohio Senate candidate: CNN ‘knuckleheads obsessed with destroying’ Trump

Ohio GOP Senate candidate Mike Gibbons, who has stirred up the race with impressive fundraising so far, on Tuesday took a page out of President Trump’s playbook to attack CNN “knuckleheads” for using on “fake news” to attack Trump instead of focusing on the big issues facing voters.

“North Korea launches long range missiles. ISIS bombs innocent children at a concert. Obamacare’s imploding and opioids are killing kids. Yet, the liberals and knuckleheads at CNN are obsessed with destroying our president by using fake news,” he said in a video ad.

Gibbons, a businessman, added, “That’s a disgrace. I’m running for Senate to stand up for Ohio families and I’ll work hard with Donald Trump to pass a conservative agenda.”

Gibbons is running against Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel. The primary winner is expected to face Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown.
