A conservative legal group headed by former top Trump adviser Stephen Miller has filed an unprecedented 11 Freedom of Information Act lawsuits claiming that President Joe Biden and his staff are hiding their “woke Marxist agenda” and the impact it will have on the nation.
America First Legal said in its new lawsuits that the administration is ignoring requests for even basic information such as names, titles, positions, resumes, salaries, and ethics pledges in a bid to quiet critics of the administration.
The suits targeted the departments of Commerce, Education, Energy, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Interior, State, Transportation, Treasury, and Veterans Affairs. They follow the administration’s refusal to comply with Freedom of Information Act requests from the group about new appointees.
Miller told Secrets that he believes the effort is purposeful — to block transparency about the president’s liberal agenda and prevent the public from seeing how unknown staffers are really in control.
“America First Legal is aggressively expanding our legal counter-assault against this lawless, woke, radicalized Administration. Biden has refused to comply with the Freedom of Information Act, illegally concealing the personnel records of its radical political appointees foisting an extreme woke Marxist agenda on the nation,” said Miller.
“These records are especially important given Biden’s severe cognitive decline: Unknown political staff are driving the train of state off the cliff, in pursuit of a fanatical ideology,” said Miller, who formed America First Legal after leaving the White House.
When Donald Trump was in office, FOIA suits came fast and furious, so much so that several departments had to reassign staff to handle the demands from liberal groups. But the administration did provide much of the sought-after information.
Biden’s team, said critics, has been slow to react, even with fewer requests, and Miller said he hopes his group’s actions shake them up.
“We have taken the historic step of suing 11 agencies, with 11 lawsuits, on a single day, to force this lawbreaking administration to comply with federal law and reveal who is implementing this extremist agenda, their networks and organizational ties, and we will make the results of our legal investigation fully available to the public. We will flood this Administration with sunlight — and we will stop this work assault on our liberties and freedoms,” he told us.
