Hillary Rodham Clinton’s once wealthy campaign is nervously warning supporters that if they don’t get more excited about her bid and cough up a lot more money, she could suffer more blowout election losses to popular rival Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Licking its wounds from huge Saturday losses in Kansas and Nebraska, Clinton’s team issued an alert Sunday in advance of the upcoming elections that she had hoped to unofficially, and finally, make her the nominee.
Their concern is that Sanders is ready to announce his 5 millionth contribution, a record, and a number that shows that despite her lead in money and delegates, his campaign remains on fire.

At tonight’s debate, Bernie Sanders will likely announce that he has received five million individual contributions to his campaign.
Now, we’ve racked up more delegates than he has and we’re doing better in the polls than he is. But that’s a lot of contributions — if his supporters keep stepping up at a higher rate than our team, we’re going to have more contests that look like the ones we saw yesterday in Kansas and Nebraska.
