In a broadside against President Obama and the mainstream media’s gun control agenda, the upcoming CPAC convention of conservatives is teaming with the NRA for a town hall titled, “Thank God for Guns in America.”
It’s the right’s answer to the recent Obama-CNN anti-gun town hall “Guns in America,” said Ian Walters of the American Conservative Union, host of the Conservative Political Action Conference taking place March 2-5.
During CNN’s Jan. 7 town hall, Obama laid out his latest executive actions to curb guns. The National Rifle Association didn’t attend, slamming it as the “Obama Gun Ban Media Circus” not worthy of participating in.
At the CPAC Q&A event, the NRA’s top lobbyist Chris W. Cox, head of the NRA Institute for Legislative Action, will participate. It occurs Saturday March 5, the last day of the conference when top talker Glenn Beck speaks and the annual presidential straw poll is released.

Chris W. Cox has served as the executive director of the NRA Institute for Legislative Action, the political and lobbying arm of the National Rifle Association, since 2002.
Guns and the Second Amendment have emerged as a top issue on the presidential campaign, with Hillary Rodham Clinton pushing for more gun control than Obama, and every Republican promising to dismantle Obama’s actions.
And the death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, a champion on the Second Amendment, has elevated the issue further with the pending political fight over who will replace him. His death also highlighted the likelihood that the next president could have a chance at naming four new justices.
