And what she told a Georgetown University panel this week wasn’t good, and she knew it. “I’m gonna get cut out of the Democratic Party for saying this,” she said in explaining why polls show Biden losing to former President Donald Trump.
“He’s old, and that overarching issue is clouding everything else. And people cannot see past it, or voters can’t see past it. And that’s a problem,” she said.

The post-election headlines were unkind to Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) after he fell short in his campaign to win control of the commonwealth’s legislature. But Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares told Secrets that the results weren’t as bad as they looked. “We had a close election in a state that Joe Biden won by 10 points. The reality is if you look at all the votes cast for Republican and Democratic candidates to the General Assembly, it was within 1 point,” he said. “So he came up a little short, but that’s where Virginia is, a very, very closely divided state,” he added.

And he’s come across something that should worry the Biden White House: Voters who picked Biden in 2020 who now support Trump. “What’s interesting about the polling is there is a Biden 2020 voter that is now a Trump 2024 voter,” he told Secrets. Most are blue-collar workers, similar to the Democrats who voted for President Ronald Reagan in 1980 and 1984. “The biggest issue for them is inflation, and there’s a good number of African Americans and Hispanics,” he added.
