This week’s White House report card finds President Joe Biden buoyed by a very positive jobs report and continued low unemployment rate. His approval rate is improving, and Rasmussen Reports even has him at 50% positive, his best in months.
But that good news is doing nothing to help his swollen spending budget proposal released to Capitol Hill. Full of taxes, new spending, and predictions of more record debt, Republicans said it is dead on arrival.

Conservative grader Jed Babbin gave Biden a “D-minus” for the week, hitting the president’s budget and his wife Jill’s move to give an International Women of Courage Award — made on International Women’s Day — to a “trans activist” Argentinian.
Pollster John Zogby graded a “B” in keeping with his practice of highlighting what matters to most Americans, jobs and the economy.

It was another one of those weeks for President Joe Biden, which left us shaking our heads. Amid his budget proposal, which was full of financial acrobatics and tax hikes, the kidnapping of four Americans in Mexico, and the support for illegal aliens voting in state and local elections, the Biden crew managed to award an Argentinian man a “woman of courage” award.
Biden’s 2024 campaign kicked off with his massive budget proposal. It tries to pull the same rabbit out of several different hats resulting in a dismembered bunny. Biden’s $6.89 trillion budget requires $4.7 trillion in new taxes and tax hikes (on income, capital gains, and corporate taxes) to support more new spending than the taxes will raise. Don’t believe the media claims that Biden’s budget will reduce the deficit. It will grow the deficit massively and bring the nation closer to bankruptcy.
Four Americans were kidnapped in Mexico, apparently by drug cartel thugs. Two were murdered, and two returned after being injured. The White House press secretary said this was “unacceptable,” but there were no words from Biden, far less any action. So what are you going to do about it, Mr. President? Evidently, nothing at all.

The administration suggested it would support voting rights for illegal aliens in U.S. state and local elections. The only reason Biden’s not proposing federal voting rights for them is that it would take a Constitutional amendment to create them. Maybe that’s next on his agenda.
Meanwhile, first lady Jill Biden and Secretary of State Tony Blinkey handed out annual International Women of Courage Awards to 10, including a transgender woman. You can’t make this stuff up, folks.

Clearly, news of 331,000 new jobs being created and many more Americans returning to work is good for President Joe Biden. The unemployment rate is still at a strong 3.6%.
News on the global level saw a rapprochement between Iran and Saudi Arabia and the possibility of reviving the stalled nuclear deal between the U.S. and allies with Iran, and possibly the halting of tensions in Iran.

The Silicon Valley Bank, the 16th largest in the U.S. but the leading institutional investor in the technology sector, has gone belly up, and that has roiled the markets. Investors have been promised a return of their money on Monday — often a ploy to postpone bad news — but those with millions due can only get up to $250,000 from FDIC. And frankly, does FDIC even have that much?
The president is holding at an average 44% approval rating, including a 50% from Rasmussen. But the headline is the new jobs.
