MOUNT POCONO, Pennsylvania — Hundreds, if not thousands, of people braved the cold on Tuesday to attend President Donald Trump‘s economy-focused speech in northeast Pennsylvania, the informal kickoff of the president’s efforts to boost Republican candidates ahead of a contentious midterm election cycle.
Trump’s remarks, delivered in a ballroom at a casino in Mount Pocono, came as he and GOP candidates are seeking to head off rising affordability concerns among voters. The matter consistently ranked No. 1 in voters’ minds, both ahead of and after major Democratic wins in the November elections.
