Attorney General Todd Blanche is stepping outside the traditional norms of the Justice Department to become a top political attack dog for Republicans in the homestretch before the midterm elections. 

Blanche, formerly President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, replaced Pam Bondi as acting attorney general in April after serving as her deputy for Trump’s first year back in office. He was confirmed and sworn into the permanent post in August and has quickly become the face of President Donald Trump’s tough-on-crime agenda.
