The November of my senior year in high school, I stayed up until midnight watching the 2020 election. The campaign season and election were nerve-racking, especially amid the backdrop of the pandemic. When I finally fell asleep, the election remained a toss-up. Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Nevada were all leaning red, but that did not last, and former President Joe Biden was announced the winner four days later. After the disputed election results, questions quickly spread about the legitimacy of the vote count.
Since 2020, we have seen nationwide failures in election integrity, alongside a fall in public trust in elections. Rightfully, elections can be shrouded in questions due to flawed laws and the refusal of governments to accept bills that would ensure election integrity.
