James Talarico is close to taking Texas. Republicans are to blame

Published

Just two weeks shy of the midterm elections, all eyes are on Texas as 37-year-old Democratic state Rep. James Talarico maintains a lead over his Republican competitor, Ken Paxton. A recent ReconMR/Siena Research Institute poll finds that 48% of voters express a preference for Talarico, with 44% favoring his opponent. For the first time since 1988, Texans might be gearing up to elect a Democratic senator. The reason? Republicans are not catering to the concerns of regular Americans.

Talarico’s platform is simple. Elites are greedy, and good-hearted people are suffering as a result. Can’t afford a house? Elites. Groceries too expensive? You guessed it: elites. The need for immediate change is encapsulated in the six bolded words featuring prominently in his campaign platform: “It’s time to Start Flipping Tables.”
