As exporters and their lenders celebrate the Export-Import Bank’s annual conference in D.C., the free market Club for Growth has released TV ads in the districts of four Republicans who support the subsidy agency.
The ads not only point out that all the leading Republican presidential candidates are on the record against the Export-Import Bank’s reauthorization — coming up for a vote this spring or summer — but that a handful of Republican congressmen are standing with former secretary of state Hillary Clinton in support of extending the agency’s charter.
The Club writes, “The ads will air in the congressional districts of Representatives Buddy Carter (GA-01), Renee Ellmers (NC-02), Stephen Fincher (TN-08) and Bill Flores (TX-17). The six-figure ad buys in all four districts include broadcast and cable TV in Memphis, Raleigh, Waco and Savannah.”
