U.S. Border Patrol agents said Monday that they apprehended a Salvadoran male caught illegally entering the country, and that a background check revealed a prior conviction of child rape in Washington state.
But don’t worry, there’s no rape, drugs, or crime coming across the southern border! Nothing to see here, people!
The arrest was made Friday, according to border agents in the Rio Grande Valley sector of Texas. During my recent tour there, agents told me that they need more miles of border barrier walls to deter illegal crossings.
The national news media howl in agony any time it’s suggested that not everyone coming across the border is a nun spreading the good word. Just Monday, the Washington Post ran a column by its opinion editor James Downie accusing Republicans of “scaremongering about violent immigrants.” But it isn’t “scaremongering” when it’s true.
There were plenty of other criminal aliens caught last week in the same border sector. One was a Mexican man with a previous conviction in Georgia for child molestation, a Honduran man with a record in North Carolina showing a conviction for “Indecent Liberties with Child,” and another Honduran male with a Florida record that identified him as a member of the violent MS-13 gang.
Democrats and the media don’t want walls on our border, but the agents at the border say they’re necessary to stop precisely these sorts of abhorrent humans from making their way into our neighborhoods. Everyone should keep that in mind if Democrats’ opposition to border security throws us into another government shutdown later this week.
