Democrats warned against a rude, incompetent candidate in 2020 — turns out that was Joe Biden

President Joe Biden did not have a good final week of January. First, he was caught on a hot mic using profanity to insult a reporter who dared ask about the inflation currently plaguing the country. Then it was revealed that his chief of staff, Ron Klain, had leaked the information about Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer’s retirement. These two mishaps further demonstrate that Biden is the rude, incompetent president Democrats said Donald Trump was. If there’s any difference between the two, it seems that Trump was able to accomplish more.

Biden has always been a rude individual. He routinely appeared as the “tough guy” when confronting people. He also has a history of being caught using profanity while in office. He was never the tender, compassionate person the media tried to sell to the public.

No one will ever confuse Trump with a soft-spoken individual — in fact, his assertiveness appealed to many voters while turning off a fair share. Democrats relentlessly attacked Trump’s demeanor and used it to label him “unfit for office” during the campaign trail and his first year in office. Yet, despite these insults, Trump upheld many of his campaign promises and compiled a long list of accomplishments during his first year.

Objectively, he did better than Biden. It’s even more impressive that Trump did this without any previous experience in politics compared to Biden, who has been in political life for 50 years.

During Trump’s first year in office, he accomplished a lot and upheld many campaign promises. For example, he repealed the individual mandate in the Affordable Care Act. He appointed a record number of judges to federal appellate courts. He also implemented policy changes that helped reduce illegal immigration. He took strong military action that led to the defeat of the ISIS caliphate. He also pushed for and signed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

Trump had his shortcomings, but in spite of them, he was far more effective and efficient than Biden in his first year.

Tangentially, Biden’s incident with Peter Doocy also demonstrated the complete hypocrisy of left-wing talk show hosts. Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Trevor Noah, and Seth Meyers, who routinely criticized Trump’s assertiveness, had a completely different reaction when Biden was abrasive. They all “had no bad words to say” after Biden was caught berating Doocy. Doocy was asking about a real problem that actually affects real people.

It’s just the latest example showing so much of their outrage in politics, especially regarding Trump, was always fiction and political theater with no substance behind it.

Ultimately, attacks on Trump’s demeanor were a facade. They had more to do with trying to sway public opinion against him than with leveling valid criticisms. This was obvious when Democrats threw their support behind the ill-mannered, vulgar Biden. The problem is that Biden has always been a bit light on substance and accomplishments, as well.
