Beltway is inordinately excited about this week’s annual presidential turkey pardon. We skipped it last year (forget why). We are still nostalgic for the Bush-era turkey pardons, where the jokes about Scooter Libby were just gravy on the mashed potatoes.
Which raises an interesting question that came up at the White House briefing today, when Mark Knoller of CBS News asked about Obama’s record on (human) pardons. So far, there haven’t been any.
