Liberals astonished by Obama Nobel (continued)

Statements keep coming in from liberals astonished at the decision to award Barack Obama the Nobel Peace Prize. Here are some more, to add to those in my previous blogpost.

 

Michael Tomasky in the Guardian (“this is so out of nowhere that it could almost be embarrassing to the White House”).

 

Joe Klein of Time (“premature to the point of ridiculousness”).

 

David Ignatius of the Washington Post (“so goofy—even if you’re a fan, you have to admit that he hasn’t really done much yet as a peacemaker”).

 

Barack Obama (“to be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who’ve been honored by this prize”).  

 

I haven’t seen any reaction yet from Hillary or Bill Clinton.
