Is your member of Congress owned by the Persian lobby?

Last night, the House of Represenatives attended to some highly important business.

First, they voted on whether to honor the 2,500th anniversary of the Battle of Marathon, in which the Athenians defeated the invading Persian army. As much as I love Herodotus, I am happy to see that 44 members of the House voted against this silliness, and five others voted “present.”

(Also, the bill misspells the word “site.” Maybe they can hold a conference committee and amend it.)

The House also declared next year to be “World Veterinary Year.” The vote was unanimous: We support our veterinarians. Yes, even Ron Paul.
