Gadhafi’s forces make gains, Clinton makes promises

On the heels of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s promise Tuesday that the United States should find ways of supporting the Libyan opposition, strongman Moammar Gadhafi’s forces took the last stronghold west of Tripoli.

“We understand the urgency of this,” Clinton said earlier in the day,

speaking at a press conference during a visit to Cairo. “We are upping our humanitarian assistance. We are looking for ways to support the opposition.”
