SNL takes its shot at White House impotence

Saturday Night Live skewered President Obama’s attempts to pass the buck last night with a fake presidential address by SNL’s Obama impersonator, Fred Armisen.

Armisen complained from a fake Oval Office that the tripartite power structure Americans learned in grade school is incorrect. Rather, there is a hierarchy of power in which Congress takes the top spot, anti-tax activist Grover Norquist is in second and Oprah Winfrey is in third. (“There are still 150 million women out there who, because of Oprah, have an unread Toni Morrison book on their shelves.”)

The office of the President is ranked a dismal 11th — described as merely a “ceremonial position,” with the President only a “majestic figurehard.”

Billonaires George Soros, the Koch brothers, the Supreme Court, and the National Football League are all ranked ahead of the White House in the fictional power list.
