Defense Department spokesman Geoff Morrell told reporters Tuesday that officials are still in the process of putting together a plan for the military if the government shuts down on Friday. He would not elaborate as to whether U.S. troops will continue to receive paychecks if that happens.

 “It is still something we are working through right now,” he said.
