States are rushing to recruit employees who were cut from the federal workforce under the Trump administration. 

There is no tally of how many federal employees have been laid off, fired, or voluntarily resigned due to the Trump administration’s initiative to slash the size of the bureaucracy through Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency.
