Secretary of State John Kerry says no matter how hard it gets, the United States will persevere in its mission to negotiate a ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian forces.

Kerry was the opening speaker Monday morning at the Young African Leaders Summit in Washington, an event leading up to a gathering next week of African heads of state.
