Florida has become the first state to enter into an agreement with the Trump administration that allows all local and state law enforcement to carry out federal immigration duties.

All 67 county sheriff’s departments across the state have signed what are known as 287(g) agreements with the federal government that permit nonfederal law enforcement in the Sunshine State to perform some immigration responsibilities.
