Section of California high-speed rail line OK’d

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Plans for construction of a 114-mile high-speed passenger rail line between Fresno and Bakersfield are official.

The Fresno Bee reports (http://bit.ly/1l1nG4Y) that the federal Surface Transportation Board announced the plans Tuesday in a detailed report of the proposed electric-powered rail service.
