He may be getting ready for his vacation at Martha’s Vineyard, but President Obama isn’t off the fundraising clock yet. He hopped a jet to New York City Thursday for a celebrity-studded fundraiser attended by movie mogul Harvey Weinstein and Vogue editor Anna Wintour. After first attending a closed-door reception at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in downtown Manhattan with a few wealthy donors, Obama headed to dinner at Weinstein’s five-story brownstone, where Gov. Andrew Cuomo, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, comedian Jimmy Fallon and musician Pharrell Williams were all in attendance.
It was a high-priced evening, as tickets for both events cost $35,800 per person — with $5,000 going towards Obama’s reelection campaign, and the remainder going to the Democratic National Committee.
