Sean Penn, D.C. photographer clash in alley

Sean Penn’s been known to get testy with media types.

Currently, he’s facing a lawsuit filed against him by a Los Angeles paparazzo who claims the actor assaulted him and threatened to kill him if he ran into him again. (The phrase Penn used was, “The next time I see you, you will be in a box.”)

But when Penn was in D.C. last month, he provoked D.C. paparazzo Mark Wilkins in an alley outside Hotel George.

Wilkins told Yeas & Nays that when he was snapping pictures of the star on his cell phone, Penn ended his conversation to ask Wilkins, “Did you get enough pictures, you fat pig?”

The photographer said, “Excuse me?” Penn replied by making inflammatory comments about Wilkins’ mother.

“I said, ‘come on Sean, I’m actually a fan,'” Wilkins said, recalling the incident.

Penn repeated his inflammatory remarks and followed up with, “Do you want to fight?”

The paparazzo walked away, he said.
