Donald Trump took aim at Ted Cruz in a new Instagram ad pointing out that many of his recent endorsers were previously critical.
The ad, titled “Endorsements for Lyin’ Ted,” features footage of former 2016 candidates Jeb Bush, Carly Fiorina and Lindsey Graham, all currently Cruz supporters, panning the Texas senator when they were still in the race.
“Have a little self-restraint,” Bush said when asked if he has any advice for Cruz.
“Ted Cruz is just like any other politician,” Fiorina says. “He says whatever he needs to say to get elected.”
“Ted Cruz is not my favorite by any means,” Graham stated.
The ad concludes, “With friends like these who needs enemies?”
On the campaign trail, Trump had often criticized Cruz for not earning support from his fellow senators. But the party establishment is beginning to rally around Cruz now that he is the only surviving candidate who can now stop Trump prior to the convention.
