Mike Huckabee to end TV show, explore presidential bid

Former Gov. Mike Huckabee will announce tonight that he is ending his Fox News show to explore a 2016 presidential candidacy.

Huckabee took to social media Saturday to tease that his show, “Huckabee,” would feature a big announcement, which CNN‘s Brian Stelter reported would be the end of his show after 6 1/2 years on air.

“Don’t miss my show tonight on Fox; You can watch tonight or read about it in the papers tomorrow. 8pm EST. Tell your friends!” Huckabee tweeted. He is expected to make a decision on a presidential candidacy this spring.

The politician turned pundit used a similar platform in 2011 to announce he was not running in 2012, TV Newser noted Saturday.

Huckabee is tied for fifth in the RealClearPolitics average of polls. He trails the leader, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, by nine percentage points.

He previously mounted an unsuccessful 2008 bid for the White House.
