Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has a new moniker for Donald Trump: “the Kim Kardashian” candidate.
Trump often uses pithy insults to attack his rivals, such as “Lyin’ Ted” for Cruz or “Little Marco” for Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.
Cruz returned fire in an interview with the California-based “John and Ken Show” on Thursday. The senator compared Trump to another celebrity who grew wealthy by exploiting a reality television show.
“There’s no doubt that Donald Trump is the Kim Kardashian presidential candidate,” Cruz said. “He sits on Twitter and makes a lot of noise, but he has no solutions to fixing the problem.”
The comparison of Trump to the “Keeping up with the Kardashians” star is one that others have made throughout this presidential primary season. Kardashian, however, has thrown her support behind Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016.
