WATCH: Graham slams ‘ideologue’ Senate colleague Cruz

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., is warning that his Senate colleague Ted Cruz of Texas would be an ineffectual leader because he is just as ideologically driven as President Obama. Graham told the Washington Examiner after Saturday’s GOP debate that Cruz has not come to the Senate to solve problems, but to create them and that he does “dumb things.”

“There’s a reason Senator Cruz can’t get anything done,” Graham said. “People don’t feel comfortable working with him and the last thing we need in Washington is another ideologue that can’t work with people.”

Graham, who left the presdential race at the end of December and is supporting former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, criticized Cruz’s tactics he feels has hurt the Republican Party.
