By the Numbers: Faith won’t hurt Romney in general election

91 percent: The number of white evangelical Protestants who would back Mitt Romney in a general election against President Obama, despite the fact that he’s a Mormon,  according to a new survey from the Pew Research Center examining the impact of Romney’s Mormon faith on his run for the White House. Only 8 percent of overall Republican or Republican-leaning voters say Romney’s religion would make them less likely to vote for him, with 44 percent saying it would not make any difference.
