President Obama and Hillary Clinton are set to run into each other Saturday night in Martha’s Vineyard, as they both attend the 80th birthday party of financier Vernon Jordan.
It will mark the first time the president and his former secretary of state will have met since March, according to Politico.
Clinton will travel to the exclusive Massachusetts island after campaigning Saturday at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines.
Jordan, a prominent businessman, civil rights activist and former adviser to President Bill Clinton, spends his summers on Martha’s Vineyard, where Obama and the First Family are also vacationing.
Obama and Hillary Clinton have at times been at odds, including during the 2008 Democratic primary. Jordan backed Clinton during that primary.
The meeting comes as Vice President Joe Biden reportedly considers challenging Clinton for the Democratic nomination in 2016. Although Clinton is the front-runner, recent controversies and low approval ratings have raised questions about the depth of the Democratic field.
