Mary Hughes Hynes became chairwoman of the Arlington County Board Monday, taking the leadership spot as Christopher Zimmerman’s chairmanship term expired.
Hynes was first elected to the board in 2007 and won re-election in November. She represents Arlington on Metro’s board of directors and previously served on the county’s School Board for 11 years.
