The Club for Growth unveiled a new ad designed to boost Ted Cruz’s presidential bid in Wisconsin.
The club, an influential conservative not-for-profit group, made its first-ever presidential endorsement of Cruz earlier this week. Its newest ad will begin airing statewide on Saturday, as part of a $1 million television and digital ad buy in Wisconsin.
The ad spotlights the delegate math required for any candidate to secure the Republican nomination, and implores voters to recognize that a vote for Ohio Gov. John Kasich “helps Trump.”
“If you don’t want Donald Trump to win, your choice comes down to this: math,” a narrator says in the 30-second ad. “Only Ted Cruz can beat Donald Trump. John Kasich can’t do it. The math won’t work. A vote for Kasich actually helps Trump, by dividing the opposition. It’s time to put differences aside. To stop Trump, vote for Cruz.”
Cruz is campaigning in Wisconsin this week, and will visit House Speaker Paul Ryan’s hometown on Thursday night.
