Cruz keeps slim lead over Trump in key Iowa poll

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, has a 3-point lead over Donald Trump with less than three weeks to go before the Iowa caucuses, according to a new poll from the Des Moines Register.

The paper noted that Cruz’s support has slipped, but that three out of four likely caucus-goers still see Cruz favorably.

The poll has Cruz at 25 percent, and Trump on his heels at 22 percent. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida has 12 percent, and Ben Carson still has 11 percent.

Everyone else is in the single-digits.

Still, the poll says 56 percent of those asked could still change their minds.

On Tuesday, Trump said at a rally that if he wins Iowa, he’d “run the table” in rest of the primaries.
