Kentucky Democrat shoots skeet, criticizes Obama in ad

Kentucky Senate nominee Alison Lundergan Grimes shows off her skeet shooting skills in her latest ad, trying to put distance between her and an unpopular President Obama.

“I’m not Barack Obama. I disagree with him on guns, coal and the EPA,” the Democratic nominee says after shooting multiple clay pigeons in the ad.

The TV spot is a clear attempt to distance herself from Obama, who has a 64 percent disapproval rating in the state.

Grimes also takes aim at her opponent, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, who brought a rifle on stage at the 2014 Conservative Political Action Conference.

“And Mitch, that’s not you hold a gun,” she says.

A RealClearPolitics average of polls has McConnell ahead of Grimes by 5.2 points.
