Buoyed by a strong third place finish in Iowa, Marco Rubio jabbed at the contentious Democratic process during a town hall meeting in Exeter, New Hampshire.
The Florida senator said that if he is the Republican presidential nominee, he will win and “it won’t just be by the flip of a coin. That was unreal.”
Rubio was referring to the fact that some Democratic delegates were allocated by a coin flip after a tight fight in the Iowa caucus between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.
A woman in the room yelled, “We love to you!” Rubio replied, “My favorite kind of heckler.”
When the crowd began chanting “Marco, Marco, Marco!” Rubio quipped, “Don’t say ‘polo.’ I hated that game. When I am president we are banning that game!”
Rubio out-performed the polls in Iowa and faces another test in New Hampshire. He is kicking of a series of town hall forums in the first primary state.
Rubio is third in the Washington Examiner‘s latest presidential power rankings.
