Just hours before the Newseum hosted the premiere of HBO’s “Game Change” Thursday night, the Pennsylvania Avenue museum attracted another big guest. Dude, a 12-foot-tall giraffe from Florida, was chilling in a tent outside, as part of a very tall publicity stunt to promote the Residence Inn line of hotels by Marriott. At the Thursday morning event, the Marriott folks unveiled three new ads starring a giraffe (hence why Dude was around), an elephant and a flock of penguins to represent how spacious their rooms are for long-term stay guests.
