According to Helen Thomas, “There is no such thing as an instant president.”
And this reporter should know: She’s been covering the White House for 57 years.
“A great president has great conscience and courage,” Thomas said Friday at the National Archives. “I think Obama has conscience, now he needs to become courageous.”
Although Thomas said she thought Obama had potential, she’s also miffed that he doesn’t spend enough time in the press room.
“They have the world in their hands,” Thomas said. “You don’t say ‘honesty’ and ‘Washington’ in the same breath.”
