The presence of crime novelist George Pelecanos and “Watergate” author Thomas Mallon at the Canadian embassy last week had the northerly diplomats craving scandal.
“Please, when you’re doing your next book,” requested Minister of Political Affairs Kevin O’Shea, “feel free to use us for any of your murders, any of your political intrigue, and in particular any of those steamy sex scenes.”
“I can assure you, there’s a shower in the ambassador’s office, there’s a shower in my office,” O’Shea said. “Let your imagination run wild.” He lamented that the most action the embassy sees currently is discussion of the Keystone Pipeline.
