Hillary racing to raise money as the month ends

Hillary Clinton will attend over 26 fundraisers between Monday and July 3, according to reports, as part of a whirlwind fundraising tour as the quarter comes to a close.

Clinton kicks off the fundraising tour Monday in the Midwest, where she will spend a few days before heading to New York City for a star-studded event at the Plaza Hotel on Wednesday, with performances by Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett.

When the quarter ends June 30, Clinton will be required to file fundraising disclosures. Numbers are not expected to be high, compared to other candidates’ fundraisings, this quarter, as the campaign has only been accepting primary cash.

While Clinton campaign normally calls on its base of supporters to donate between $1-$10 to the campaign, she will ask donors to cough up $2,700 individually or to help raise at least $27,000 at most of her high-profile fundraising events over the next weeks.

In a June 11 email to supporters, Hillary for America national finance director Dennis Cheng condemned Clinton’s Republican opponents for raising hundreds of millions of dollars through super PACs. Cheng claimed that Hillary is running a grassroots campaign.

Following a host of money-raising events to close out June, Clinton is scheduled to attend three fundraisers in early July in Massachusetts.
