A new poll says Donald Trump is maintaining his lead over Hillary Clinton in Missouri, but that his lead may be narrowing.
A St. Louis Post-Dispatch poll says Trump is ahead 47-42, but that 5-point margin is tighter than other recent polls have shown. The RealClearPolitics' average of Missouri polls gives Trump a larger lead.
Incumbent GOP Sen. Roy Blunt has a narrow edge on his Democratic challenger, Jason Kander, 47-46, which amounts to a statistical tie.
"The Senate race is fascinating because it is going against the grain in terms of what is going on presidentially, and I can't think of another state where that is happening," said Brad Coker, who conducted the poll for Mason-Dixon, to the Post-Dispatch.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch poll surveyed 625 likely Missouri voters this week and has a margin of error plus or minus 7 points.
