Idina Menzel thinks Sen. Pat Roberts’ “Frozen” ringtone is ‘magnificent’

Idina Menzel is overjoyed that Sen. Pat Roberts’ ringtone is “Let It Go.”

The 78-year-old senator gained Internet fame when his phone interrupted a Finance Committee hearing by blasting “Let It Go,” Menzel’s most recognizable song from Disney’s Frozen.

“Aw, come on! Just let it go,” Roberts joked at the time.

Menzel commented on the incident to The Hill.

“I thought it would be magnificent if it was just his own little ringtone, but I heard he does have kids, grandkids,” the  Tony Award-winning actress said.

Menzel was in Washington being honored at USA Today’s 2015 “Make a Difference Day.” Menzel was being celebrated for the organization she co-founded, A BroaderWay Foundation, which provides art programs for girl in underserved communities in order to provide leadership skills.

Menzel was also asked what members of Congress could do to make a difference she said, “I think they could do a lot to support the arts. I think that the arts are constantly the first thing to go.

And you ask anybody that’s successful — as an artist, performer, singer, dancer, actor — and they’ll tell you that the arts are what saved them as children, what gave them helping find out who they are, kept them from going crazy if they had a chaotic upbringing… And that’s just the touchy-feely stuff. Then there’s all the science-based proof about how it affects your brain. So it’d be nice if it wasn’t always the go-to cut.”
