America’s favorite tweeting politician has rejoined the Twitterverse.
Former Congressman Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) has decided to rejoin Twitter nearly two years after an inappropriate tweet of his male organs cost him his job.
After denying the scandal for several days, the former congressman finally admitted sending a host of graphic photos via text and Twitter to women — despite being married and expecting a child with his wife, an advisor to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
But now the congressman is putting himself back out there with an entirely new Twitter account: @anthonyweiner. His former account, @repweiner, still exists but has been updated infrequently in recent months.

His comeback on social media follows his recent announcement that he’s considering a run for mayor of New York. Weiner has already released his campaign platform online: a plan to “keep New York the capital of the middle class.”
Recent polling shows that Weiner currently trails New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn by nine points in the race.
