Paula Deen says ‘nay’ to ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Paula Deen will not be reinvigorating her reputation through dance. The Food Network star, who was fired for use of the N-word, has declined an invitation to appear on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” according to a report in Us Weekly.

“The dance floor is not the appropriate forum for her,” a Deen source told the tabloid. “Dancing with the Stars” co-host Tom Bergeron disagreed. “We’ve seen career resurgences after the show,” he told Us Weekly. “People go, ‘I remember why I love that person.’”

Former House Majority Leader Tom Delay was one person who used the show to resuscitate his reputation. Delay, who had to quit Congress over money laundering charges, danced during the show’s ninth season before he had to quit due to stress fractures in both feet.
