Former Labor Secretary Tom Perez beat Rep. Keith Ellison in the race as Chairman of the Democratic Party. Now, Bernie Sanders supporters are furious.
Perez was the more moderate candidate backed by establishment figures including former Vice President Joe Biden. Meanwhile, Ellison found support among hardcore progressives including Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). When the early favorite Ellison lost, it triggered the far-left of the party.
Bernie Bros started using the hashtag #DNCisDeadParty and claimed that the Democrats hadn’t learned anything from the 2016 election.
