Liberal celebs ask GOP electors not to vote for Trump [VIDEO]

Remember when all those famous actors and singers made all those commercials telling people to vote for Hillary Clinton? They were so effective.

Well, now another series of celebrities are back at it again with a commercial asking Republican electors to vote against Donald Trump. That means they could be breaking the law in their respected state.

Martin Sheen, Debra Messing, Moby, and a group of other B-list or C-list celebrities were featured in the ad from Unite for America, a non-partisan PAC.

“The electoral college was created specifically to prevent an unfit candidate from becoming president,” said one actor.

“I’m not asking you to vote for Hillary Clinton,” said an actress. “As you know the Constitution gives the electors the right to vote any eligible person.”

It’s amazing how many actors are also Constitutional scholars!

In reality, 26 states have laws forbidding electors from voting against the will of their state, 13 of which voted for Donald Trump.

The bigger question is, couldn’t this “nonpartisan” group find anyone more convincing to Republican electors than liberal Hollywood actors who were all in the bag for Clinton? Furthermore, they only need the support of 37 electors, why are they running a commercial? They can just send a celebrity to every single one of their houses to make a personal plea.

At least the elector could get a selfie out of it.
