Jon Stewart featured a segment on “The Daily Show” Monday that poked fun at President Obama for refusing to label ISIS radical Islamic terrorists.
“We are not at war with Islam,” Obama said at the White House Summit on Countering Violent Extremism last week. “We are at war with people who have perverted Islam.”
“So, the president has made a very conscious attempt to avoid the word ‘Islam,’ assuring critics that this is a deliberate choice designed to deny ISIS any further propaganda fuel,” Stewart said. “It’s the type of restrained strategy that is somewhat undone every time one of our sky-based killing robots mistakes a wedding for a terror-training camp.”
Stewart also laughed at the fact the White House decided to host a summit to combat ISIS, labeling the terror group a “horrible, barbaric, apocalyptic death cult full of bloodthirsty monsters.”
“You done poked a sleeping bear, ISIS, and now the bear is having a summit,” Stewart said sarcastically. “Because, even though this bear is a perfect killing machine, it would prefer if — just one time — other large mammals had an idea, because we are running out of salmon while the pandas just get fat f—ing happy, rolling around in the snow, buying up all of our debt.”
Of course, the liberal comedian couldn’t resist skewering Obama’s critics for urging a stronger strategy to combat the terror group.
